Serious Anne Arundel car accidents have financial ramifications

Law Offices of Joel L. Katz, LLC Team

It is difficult to lose a family member in any circumstances. However, when individuals experience an unexpected loss as a result of car accidents, the shock, along with their grief, may make it difficult for them to cope. One family is facing the reality of the death of their loved one after an accident in Anne Arundel County took his life. Unfortunately, police claim that his actions may have caused the accident.

Police claim that a 22-year-old male was speeding on a Maryland road in June. Reports indicate that the driver was unable to navigate around a curve due to his high rate of speed. As a result, he lost control of the vehicle before it exited the roadway and hit a tree.

The driver and both passengers, a 20-year-old male and a 21-year-old male, were transported to an area hospital for treatment. The driver ultimately died from the injuries he suffered. The older passenger is listed in critical condition. The younger driver is stable, but his injuries are described as incapacitating.

Victims of car accidents such as this one can often face uncertain financial futures. As a result of this Anne Arundel County accident, these two young men could likely face extensive medical bills as well as a reduced ability to work. The younger victim could likely require long-term, expensive medical treatment as he navigates the road to recovery, and he may never be able to completely recover. Many accident victims who can prove that their injuries were due to another’s negligence have the option of seeking legal recourse in a civil court. In the past, those who have been able to successfully argue their cases have been awarded monetary damages to help them cope with the financial ramifications of such life-altering events.
