Recent Maryland truck accidents: fatal accident kills 1
A man was killed recently when his car crashed into a commercial garbage truck. The accident occurred in Colora on a Thursday morning in late November, according to the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office. When truck accidents like the one described above occur in Maryland and result in a fatality and are due to the negligence of another individual, the victims’ families are typically entitled to file a wrongful death claim to recover damages incurred by the tragic accident.
The fatal accident occurred around 6:45 a.m. The 46-year-old driver of the garbage truck was driving in a lane of traffic and was apparently attempting to turn left at an intersection onto an eastbound road, police say. While doing so, the truck cut into a car’s path.
The car then collided with the side of the garbage truck. Emergency personnel rushed to the accident’s scene, but the driver of the car, a 41-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, police say. The driver of the garbage truck was not injured. The crash is still under investigation.
For individuals grieving from similar unexpected losses, the tragedy of losing someone is often compounded when the accidents seem to have been entirely preventable. Many Maryland residents who have lost loved ones in truck accidents that are caused by the negligence of others seek legal recourse in civil courts. In doing so, the loved ones may be able to alleviate some of the financial stresses that were caused by the losses of their loved ones.
