Recent car accident: 1 pedestrian struck and injured by vehicle

From moderate injuries suffered from the results of minor fender benders to catastrophic injuries suffered from high-speed multi-car pileups, car accidents in Maryland come in many shapes and sizes. However, when a car accident involves a pedestrian, the injuries suffered are rarely minor. If a pedestrian is injured as a result of another driver’s negligence and decides to file a legal claim, these claims are governed by the law of negligence. A car accident between a pedestrian and a car occurred recently, police said. The accident happened on a recent Monday in January. It occurred in Wheaton, Montgomery County.

Montgomery Police said that at around 11:49 a.m., an elderly woman was struck by a car while crossing the street. A 21-year-old man was driving northbound on the road when he struck the 82-year-old Silver Spring woman. The woman suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident and was rushed to a local hospital.

When a car accident results in a serious injury, such as this victim’s serious injuries, the victim may be entitled to financial relief.
