Medical expenses from a Maryland car accident may be reimbursed
Car accidents are often unexpected and can be very expensive. Car repairs of damaged vehicles can get extremely pricey and medical expenses incurred can be astronomical. Maryland residents who have been the victim or the cause of an auto accident may find themselves in need of an attorney to help recover the costs if applicable.
Police responded to a call around 2:40 a.m. that claimed a vehicle was overturned and came to a rest down an embankment. Upon arrival at the scene, authorities found the driver of the overturned vehicle to have been thrown from the vehicle and declared him dead at the scene. They believed him to be in his late 40s. A passenger was taken to a local shock trauma center where the 47-year-old male is being treated for serious injuries.
The vehicle that collided with the first as they both traveled southbound held two passengers. The first was a 36-year-old female who was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The second passenger suffered no injuries.
When an accident that results in a fatality occurs, some may assume that a driver’s impairment may be the case. Regardless, wrongful death and personal injury claims could be filed as a result of this incident. Should a Maryland court rule in favor of the plaintiffs, damages could be awarded to the victims in the accident to help cover the costs of medical expenses and final costs, as applicable. If the deceased driver was at fault, his estate could have a claim filed against it. Victims and surviving family members can consult with an experienced attorney to assess the validity of their claim.
