Man injured in a motorcycle accident flown to Maryland hospital
When the weather is warm, more people take advantage of the outdoors by spending time at the pool or engaging in other outdoor activities. Warmer weather can also impact a person’s mode of transportation. For example, many people will choose to walk or ride a motorcycle. As a result, those in more traditional motor vehicles must be sure to exercise caution in order to avoid a serious accident. In a recent incident in Maryland, police believe a man may have been injured in a motorcycle accident due to the actions of another driver.
The incident occurred in the afternoon of a day in late July. A 30-year-old man was traveling on a motorcycle. Police claim that a car drove into the path of the motorcyclist, who was unable to avoid a collision.
The biker was transported by helicopter to an area hospital for treatment after striking the car. Reports indicate that he is currently listed in critical condition. Two occupants of the vehicle the motorcycle struck suffered minor injuries. It is unclear at this time if criminal charges are expected. However, the accident likely remains under investigation.
While the physical injuries in an accident such as this are generally clear, the financial impact may be much more difficult to understand. The injured man will likely have to deal with medical bills related to his treatment. He may also require long-term rehabilitation in addition to coping with lost wages as he misses work. As a result, many people in Maryland who have been injured in a motorcycle accident have sought damages in a civil court. If it can be proven that his injuries were caused by the car driver’s negligence, he could receive damages to help with the financial ramifications of the accident.
