Early morning accident investigation continues in Maryland
With Maryland traffic in the morning being crazy and hectic, many commuters chose to leave for work earlier than necessary. Beating the early morning rush and having a peaceful drive to work may be worth missing that extra 30 minutes of sleep. Sometimes, this lack of sleep could place drivers at risk for general tiredness and slower response times in an emergency situation. An accident investigation continues after an early morning crash that injured one and fatally wounded another.
A 24-year-old Maryland man lost his life from injuries sustained in an early morning car accident. At around 6 a.m., he was believed to be heading eastbound when he maneuvered his car to avoid hitting a vehicle that was backing out of a driveway. When the man swerved to miss the car, he collided head-on with an oncoming SUV, which was headed westbound.
The driver of the car that was intending to avoid the initial crash was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics. The 23-year-old driver of the SUV was flown to a local trauma center for treatment. Authorities closed the road for a short period of time to complete accident reconstruction and continue to investigate.
A car crash can leave those involved and surviving loved ones devastated and confused. As the accident investigation continues, seeking the advice of an attorney may be helpful, especially when the at-fault party perishes because of the car accident. In this case, the surviving victim’s family may wish to pursue a wrongful death suit in a civil court. A successful lawsuit could help families to cover medical and final expenses.
