Apparent negligent driver rear-ends car, injures other driver
Driving is a necessary part of commuting for many Maryland residents. Every driver knows that each time he or she gets behind the wheel, there is some risk of an accident. Even when drivers carefully obey the posted speed limit and comply with traffic laws, accidents may occur because of someone else’s fault. Sometimes, despite taking all of the necessary precautions and driving defensively, innocent drivers may find themselves injured at the hands of a negligent driver.
In late July, one such driver was traveling in the right lane of Interstate-70 when another driver struck his or her vehicle from behind. The impact was forceful enough to send the victim’s car spiraling into the left lane and into traffic. The vehicle overturned multiple times.
According to police reports, the driver of the vehicle that was rear-ended was airlifted by helicopter to a shock trauma unit in Baltimore. The extent of the victim’s injuries remains unknown. Apparently, this was the only injury reported at the time of the accident. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
In Maryland, it is all too common for car accidents to occur when a negligent driver breaks the law and/or diverts attention from the task at hand. When an individual is injured because of another driver’s wrongdoing, he or she may choose to seek the advice of an attorney who has experience with personal injury claims. An attorney can help a victim of personal injury file a lawsuit in appropriate circumstances and seek financial redress for monetary damages incurred.
