Recent Maryland car accident kills 1
When individuals are the victims of vehicular accidents in Maryland, the effects may be life altering. The injuries suffered, whether temporary or permanent, may result in those individuals not being able to work in the short term or ever again. In the event the car accident proves fatal and was caused by another driver’s negligence, the victim’s loved ones may have legal options available to them.
A recent Maryland car accident took the life of one individual. The accident occurred in Frederick County on a recent Wednesday in January. All lanes of westbound I-70 were shut down, Maryland State Police reported.
Around 9 a.m., police said three dump trucks and a passenger car were traveling in the westbound lane of traffic. Witnesses said that two of the dump trucks and the passenger vehicle stopped to allow a motorcade from Washington to pass. The SUV was then rear-ended by a third dump truck. The SUV driver was later pronounced dead at the accident scene while two of the dump truck drivers were rushed to a local hospital.
Under the facts reported, a wrongful death lawsuit appears to be an appropriate option for the deceased’s family. The claim may be filed in a Maryland civil court against the driver and any separate owner of the vehicle he was operating at the time of the deadly crash. An attorney experienced in personal injury lawsuits is often consulted to help with the process of evaluating, preparing and litigating a wrongful death claim due to a fatal car accident.
