Maryland drivers who injure others could be sued for negligence

With the hustle and bustle of everyday life combined with the congestion on some of Maryland’s highways and main routes, car accidents are bound to crop up. Accidents that happen due to driver error or unforeseen, unavoidable circumstances are still upsetting, but are less likely to result in serious injury or death. Around 7:30 p. m. on a major highway, a vehicle was riding in the HOV lane. According to witness reports, the driver was speeding and using aggressive maneuvers. The 20-year-old male attempted to cross lanes, and he lost control of the vehicle. The car then hit a tree and careened into a sound barrier wall.

A 20-year-old passenger was killed in the crash. The driver and another passenger, a 21-year-old male, were both taken to a local hospital and are being treated for injuries. The police are not indicating that alcohol was a factor in this incident and are still investigating.
